The residents at Sandringham Court in London Road, Hadleigh, were among those who were captivated by the sights and sounds of the Southend Air Show over the recent Bank Holiday weekend….and they had a prime viewing platform.
The building’s top floor communal observatory provided an elevated view over the surrounding countryside and the Thames estuary beyond, and gave residents the opportunity to catch a glimpse of aircraft such as the Chinook helicopter, tornado F3, Jaguar, the Utterly Butterly Wingwalker planes and the Battle of Britain Memorial team on their way to and from Southend seafront. The thrilling Red Arrows team flew the skies over Hadleigh too.
Sandringham Court is within easy travelling distance of Southend, so it was ideal for those residents who were keen to get a closer look at the planes from the ground too. The Court’s location means it is convenient for not just events such as the airshow but also day-to-day living. The popular Essex town offers beaches and coastal walks, theatre and some of the finest shopping in the county.
Sandringham Court has been designed with buyers of 60 years and over very much in mind, making its location one of the paramount considerations for Great Homes Limited, the company behind the project. It is a stone’s throw from everyday amenities such as shops, hairdressers, medical and dentistry practices, a library and churches, and yet provides a good base for leisure activities too.
Nearby are Hadleigh Castle Country Park, Great Woods and Dodd’s Grove woodlands that all offer pleasing places for afternoon walks, while in the town centre itself there are many community activities and places to visit. Hadleigh, in fact, has one of the most historic churches in Essex, which is a joy to visit and while away some time. It has an important 12th century wall painting of Thomas a Becket.
Sandringham Court combines a convenient location with carefully designed one and two bedroomed apartments and state-of-the-art security facilities in the building itself to offer residents a carefree, independent lifestyle.
The building stands in landscaped gardens that offer peace and safety for residents behind fences and gates, while a CCTV entryphone system is in place for security when in the building. Importantly, there is a day manager, plus 24-hour support and careline facilities for residents in the event of an emergency, and of course Great Homes has fitted integrated fire alarms at strategic positions throughout the building.
Sandringham Court offers a total of 35 apartments over three floors accessed by lifts and interior designed corridors, although many have now been snapped up by buyers keen to make them their home. Only a few apartments now remain and are available for immediate viewing.
There is a choice of internal layouts to suit individual preferences. With one or two bedrooms, they vary from the popular open plan arrangement that affords a kitchen in an alcove off the main living areas to those with a separate kitchen. All have their own hallways and a stylish bathroom with either a bath or a shower and a bath.
The finish of each apartment is exceptionally high. In the kitchen, for instance, a generous range of appliances is fitted as standard, and includes a double oven, hob, extractor hood, a fridge/freezer and a washer/dryer. Similarly, the bathrooms are presented with a Twyford ‘Chantelle’ white suite in place. Both rooms are complemented by colourful wall tiling, flooring and tasteful lighting.
The Sandringham Court apartments have lots of extras – coving to the main rooms, carpets and elegant white oak veneer internal doors with brass furniture. Some even have balconies or Juliet balconies or patios.
There’s a communal gold and raspberry colour themed residents’ lounge, too, complete with the observatory cum conservatory area where residents have already made lots of new friends. In fact, a real community feel exists already at Sandringham Court, just weeks after the first residents moved in to their new homes. The complex also has a guest bedroom within the building that can accommodate visiting family. Car parking is provided within the grounds.
“We designed the apartments at Sandringham Court so that they have a real feel of luxury and lots of safety and security features for residents’ complete peace of mind,” explains David Sparks, managing director of Chafford Hundred-based Great Homes Limited. “It means residents can have an independent lifestyle, and yet there is always help close to hand. They have proved really popular and we are pleased that such a community spirit exists.”
