Sandringham Court, the stylish development of secure apartments for maturing residents in Hadleigh, Essex, hosted a special open weekend to mark the launch of a series of ‘sizzling’ June offers!
The open weekend took place on Saturday, June 4 and Sunday, June 5, and gave visitors the chance to see the high standard and clever design of the one and two bedroomed apartments – and secure themselves a fantastic deal into the bargain. There was lots of extras and money off deals.
Members of Great Homes Limited’s marketing team at Porter Glenny were on hand to escort visitors around the apartments and answer any questions, or were ‘on call’ if visitors preferred to view at their leisure. There are a total of 35 apartments at Sandringham Court, although only the last few now remain – so be quick to get that bargain.
Sandringham Court has been cleverly designed to ensure each and every resident lives in a safe and secure environment. With a CCTV entryphone system, integrated fire alarm system, a duty manager and 24-hour support and care facilities in place, residents can live independently and yet know that someone is only a call away in the case of an emergency. The complex is designed with buyers of 60 years and over very much in mind.
A community lounge – tastefully interior designed in gold and raspberry – provides an area to meet fellow residents and forge lots of new friendships. The lounge has an observatory cum conservatory area with breathtaking views out over open countryside to the Thames estuary beyond, and a neat self-contained kitchen for that all important afternoon cuppa.
“I love the view from the residents’ lounge,” says Doreen Watson, one of the new residents at Sandringham Court. “It is good to know that I can live independently in my own apartment but yet if I want company I can go to the residents’ lounge.” Great Homes has provided a free internal telephone system to ensure that newly made friends can keep in touch easily, while a guest room within the building is available for visiting friends and family.
Each of the apartments at Sandringham Court has been carefully designed for ease of living. Some afford a popular open plan arrangement where the kitchen is formed within an alcove off the main living areas, while other apartments have a separate kitchen. All have hallways, stylish bathrooms with a bath or a shower and a bath, and one or two bedrooms depending on the style chosen.
There are lots of extras too. For example, the kitchens come complete with a range of appliances all neatly integrated into the units. There’s a double oven, hob and extractor hood above, a fridge/freezer and a washer/dryer, plus colourful wall tiles and flooring that blends beautifully. Similarly, the bathrooms have wall tiles and flooring that work well with the Twyford suite, a Chantelle.
Sandringham Court stands in its own landscaped gardens that Great Homes, the Chafford Hundred-based company behind the project, has fenced to ensure residents can enjoy their own area safely and peacefully. There are numerous shrubs, and the carefully chosen flowers mean the gardens are ablaze with colour at this time of year. The gardens have a rather fetching gated drive, and there’s car parking off to the rear.
Visitors to the open weekend were able to see that Sandringham Court occupies a superb position for using local amenities in Hadleigh’s London Road, an important consideration when choosing a new home - especially for buyers ‘of a certain age’. Great Homes recognised the importance of local facilities within walking distance for its residents when it originally designed Sandringham Court.
Hadleigh is an expanding south Essex town that somehow manages to keep its historic quaintness. It dates from Saxon times, has the remains of a castle dating from the 13th century that became a haunt of both Dick Turpin and painter John Constable, and even today hosts one of the most historic churches in Essex. It has a wall painting of Thomas a Beckett that, amazingly, dates from the 1100s.
Yet amongst such history, Hadleigh manages to provide a good selection of modern shops for everyday groceries and luxury items, medical services, dentistry practices, a library, banks and a number of community venues.
Local transport is good too, and there are some wonderful places to take leisurely afternoon strolls – Hadleigh Castle Country Park, Great Woods and Dodd’s Grove woods amongst them. For more lavish purchases, leisure pursuits such as theatre or shows, or simply for a good day out, there are the major Essex towns of Southend, Basildon, Rochford and Rayleigh all within a short travelling distance away.
