Official launch for the stylish homes at Windsor Court

Windsor Court in Singleton, Ashford in Kent, has seen an unprecedented number of visitors in recent weeks along with numerous telephone enquiries from home buyers keen to know more about how the collection of secure apartments will eventually look, and what specification they will offer. Those visitors and callers will now be delighted to know the wait is over!

The company behind the project, Daily Mail UK Property Award 2005 award-winning Great Homes Limited, is set to unveil the collection of 46 one and two bedroomed homes aimed at buyers of 55 years and over at a special launch event on Saturday, October 29.

A glossy new brochure will answer all the questions and more, plus members of the marketing team will be available to show visitors around the beautifully presented show apartments. Sara Gilbert, the company’s in-house interior designer has dressed the one and two bedroomed show apartments in subtle tones of lilac and purple, the fashion colours of the moment.

“The show apartments at Windsor Court each have their own hallway that leads to a lounge, dining room and kitchen,” explains Sara. “There’s also a bathroom with its own shower and bath. They have a really good layout and it was a pleasure to design and dress them. I hope it gives visitors an idea of how they, too, could dress an apartment of their own at Windsor Court.”

Windsor Court, which will feature a conservatory and an attractive window arrangement to complement the mellow red brick, cream brick and white weatherboarded exterior, is based on the company’s phenomenally successful Sandringham Court development in Hadleigh, Essex. It was this development that Great Homes Limited won its ‘Best Essex Development’ award in the Daily Mail UK Property Awards 2005 just a few weeks ago.

Like Sandringham Court, Windsor Court will provide a safe, secure and luxurious environment for residents. For example, Great Homes plan to install some of the latest state-of-the-art safety and security equipment such as a CCTV entryphone system at the complex’s entrances to ensure that only residents’ known visitors would be admitted into the building.

An integrated fire alarm system will be installed, along with a lift to ensure easy access to all three floors of the building, plus, importantly for the residents’ complete peace of mind, there will be a duty manager available to help with day-to-day issues and a 24-hour support system in place for emergencies.

Each apartment is accessed via internal corridors, which are, themselves, decorated, carpeted and furnished to a high standard. A carefully thought through internal layout is a key factor to the design of each individual apartment. Whether one or two bedroomed, each home has a high specification that includes a carpeted hallway, lounge and dining room, plus a superbly fitted bathroom featuring an elegant white sanitaryware suite, and a kitchen.

The wood finished kitchen is complemented by stylish tiling, while a range of integrated appliances are fitted as standard. These include a double oven, hob, extractor hood and even a fridge/freezer and a washer/dryer, meaning that the kitchen can be up and running and the kettle on before the boxes are even unpacked!

Great Homes is also keen to promote friendship amongst it residents. At Sandringham Court there is a thriving community spirit, largely because of the communal lounge, conservatory and the gardens there for residents to enjoy, and the company hopes the same camaraderie will develop at Windsor Court. It, too, will have a lounge, conservatory and a large landscaped garden. A free internal telephone system is also in place to ensure new friends are just a call away.

Windsor Court is well located for Singleton’s shops for everyday needs, a consideration that Great Homes felt was important for new residents. A short distance away is the historic heart of Ashford itself with its mix of medieval, Tudor and Jacobean buildings and specialist shops, plus the mighty McArthurGlen Designer Outlet village is also close by. Windsor Court has its own car park, and for non-driving residents there is a buggy store for short trips and a good public transport network to go further afield.

“We have been overwhelmed by the response to Windsor Court so far,” says David Sparks, managing director of Great Homes Limited. “We felt there was a need for homes designed especially for more mature residents in this area, and although we are still very much in the early stages of the development, we are extremely pleased with the number of enquiries.”
