The team behind Windsor Court, the newly-launched collection of apartments for buyers of 55 years and over in Singleton, near Ashford, are delighted by the response to the new development…..and many of the appreciative comments have come as visitors view the two show apartments.
Dressed in subtle tones of beige and cream with accent colours of blue, purple and brown, the apartments designed and built by award-winning company Great Homes Limited and officially launched by the Mayor of Ashford, Cllr Malcolm Eke, a few weeks ago demonstrate how a brand new property can quickly become a home. "Everyone has immediately felt comfortable in the show apartments," explains Sara Gilbert, the company's in-house interior designer.
"Show homes or apartments can sometimes be a little unfriendly, which is why it is important to dress them in a way that will make visitors feel at ease and yet demonstrate the potential for innovative décor," says Sara. "I am really pleased that the show apartments have been so well received, and it's interesting that so many visitors have actually sat down on the sofas or chairs and actually relaxed. The apartments have a lovely welcoming feel."
Windsor Court will eventually comprise a total of 46 one and two bedroom homes over three floors with a variety of internal layouts, a high specification and lots of safety and security features. The Leeds style, a two-bedroom apartment, and The Eynesford, which is a one-bedroomed design, were chosen as the show apartments.
The Leeds represents the two-bedroomed homes perfectly. A private hallway takes the visitors past an especially large cupboard through to the master bedroom in one direction, and to a spacious living/dining room and well-fitted kitchen, the second bedroom and a bathroom in the other. Similarly, a private hallway provides access to all the rooms that make up the flowing layout of The Eynesford.
"The apartments' interior design concept started with the carpet, which was chosen to complement that used in the communal hallways and what will eventually go in the residents' lounge and conservatory area," explains Sara. "I then dressed the rest of the apartments so they took on the appearance of an elegant yet modern and cosy home."
All the apartments will eventually be carpeted, except of course in the kitchen area which will have a vinyl covering. Buyers who reserve their apartments early will be able to choose the carpet and flooring for their new home.
The kitchens in the show apartments are finished in wood and hold the surprise of an impressively large range of integrated appliances. All the apartments will eventually have the same. There's a double oven with an extractor above, washer/dryer, fridge/freezer and a ceramic hob, plus under pelmet lighting to really add a luxurious touch. Most of the bathrooms, too, have a separate shower and a bath, plus a vanity unit for a streamlined finish.
Windsor Court stands in a large garden which will eventually be landscaped and fully secured by wrought iron railings and a gate - at the moment there's just a hint of how glorious the garden will look once it's matured! It will also afford the residents' lounge and conservatory, a car park and guest room, plus many safety and security features designed for the complete peace of mind of residents.
For instance, a CCTV entryphone system will be in place, which will mean that residents can feel confident that only invited visitors are in the building. A visiting day manager will on hand to sort out any day-to-day problems while a 24- hour emergency support and careline facilities is to be provided once the first residents have moved in. A lift will provide easy access to all floors and a fully integrated fire alarm system will be in place.
Windsor Court, which is based on another of Great Homes Limited's developments, Sandringham Court in Hadleigh, Essex, which just a few weeks ago won the prestigious 'Best Essex Development' award in the Daily Mail UK Property Awards 2005, is located in Hoxton Close in Singleton, a pretty area on the outskirts of Ashford and close to many local amenities. Ashford's own extensive shopping centres and leisure amenities are within easy reach.
"I've seen the development grow over the past few months and it is a pleasure now to see it begin to take shape," said the Mayor of Ashford, Cllr Malcolm Eke, at the launch. "I think the idea of sheltered homes will make it a real asset to the area and one that is definitely needed."
Windsor Court is due for completion in the spring of 2006. For further information, to request a brochure or to make arrangements to view contact the selling agent Starfish on 0800 0 288177 or visit Great Homes Limited's website: www.greathomesltd.co.uk. |
