VISITORS FLOCK TO WINDSOR COURT TO SEE NEW RESIDENTS' LOUNGE AND CONSERVATORY

The team at Great Homes Limited was delighted to welcome so many people to its open afternoon to see its newly completed resident's lounge and conservatory at Windsor Court, in Hoxton Close, Singleton, near Ashford, recently.

"We had many appreciative comments made about how welcoming the lounge and conservatory were," says David Sparks, managing director of Great Homes Limited. "It was a bright spring afternoon and as visitors relaxed and enjoyed tea and cakes the sunshine streamed into the conservatory and through the large windows of the lounge which really lifted the post-winter spirits. Everyone really enjoyed it."

The honey and terracotta themed residents' lounge and its adjoining conservatory were the work of Great Homes' interior designer Sara Gilbert. They form the latest phase of the sheltered development near Ashford, which takes its design from Sandringham Court, a similar project in Hadleigh, Essex, for which Great Homes won the prestigious 'Best Essex Development' category in the Daily Mail UK Property Awards 2005.

"The lounge and conservatory are spacious areas, really bright and friendly, and I wanted to capture that feel in the colours I used for the curtains, sofas and soft furnishings," explains Sara. "I decided to use fabrics from the Blendworth Fabrics collection, which are really elegant and I think they work very well indeed."

Among the fabrics Sara chose for the lounge and conservatory were the inspiringly named Sorrento Honey, Roma Honey and Amalfi Honey, which complemented the terracotta carpeting and soft cream walls that define the dcor of the building.

Windsor Court is built to the high standards one would expect of an award-winning developer. The quality of build is evident both externally, and as you step through the entrance door and view the show apartments, the private apartments nearing completion, the communal hallway, the guest suite and even the storage area designed to house buggies, plus of course the stylish new residents' lounge and conservatory.

When complete, Windsor Court will comprise 46 one and two bedroomed apartments designed exclusively for buyers of 55 years and over. The first residents are expected to begin moving in this spring in time for a summer in their new home.

Each apartment has a specification to impress. For instance, each wood effect finished kitchen comes complete with integrated appliances such as a washer/dryer, fridge/freezer, and a double oven with extractor hood above. Subtle under-pelmet lighting, covering and eye-catching ceramic wall tiles ensure the look is as stylish as the space is practical. Bathrooms, too, have quality white sanitaryware that includes a vanity unit and, in most cases, both a bath and a shower.

The apartments offer open plan lounge, dining and kitchen living, which has proved hugely popular at the company's Sandringham Court development. "I like the open plan kitchen because it means that when I entertain I can chat with my guests while cooking," says Sandringham Court resident Doreen Watson.

What really sets Windsor Court apart from other similar developments however is its range of safety and security measures. They ensure residents can enjoy the chance of a carefree, independent environment in which to live and knowing there is always someone around to help in the event of an emergency. "Knowing that our residents can live with peace of mind is very important to us," says David Sparks.

A CCTV entryphone system that permits only known visitors into the building is one of the measures. It has proved successful at Sandringham Court and looks set to be the same at Windsor Court. Great Homes has also engaged the services of specialist management company, Peverel, to provide 24-hour emergency support at the press of a button, along with a duty manager who is always on hand for advice during the day.

Windsor Court is located within easy reach of local amenities such as shops for day-to-date purchases and hairdressers, while Ashford city centre with its much larger selection of stores, including the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet village, is easily reached by car or bus. Canterbury and Sevenoaks are a few miles away too, as is the glorious Kent coastline around Romney Marshes and Hythe.

Stylish apartments, high specification and a convenient location, plus a beautiful new resident's lounge and conservatory - that's Windsor Court. For further information telephone the marketing suite on 0800 0288177 or visit Great Homes Limited's website on www.greathomesltd.co.uk
