VISITORS FLOCK TO SALES CENTRE LAUNCH AT HIGHLANDS

With a beautifully presented sales and show suite for visitors to see, the launch event at a brand new development of luxurious retirement apartments in Main Road, Gidea Park just a couple of weeks ago proved to be a resounding success.

“We were delighted with the volume of visitors we saw at Highlands during the launch event,” says David Sparks, managing director of award-winning Great Homes Limited, the company behind the project. “We were equally thrilled that so many of their comments were appreciative of the project and the new homes we are providing.”

Visitors could see the earth-themed interior designed show apartment and visualise just how living at the new development would be for them. The sales suite is partly dressed too. They could see the high specification of the fully fitted kitchens complete with an impressive array of integrated appliances, the bathrooms and the generous layout that each apartment will eventually afford. The development is expected to be complete by this summer.

A team from Great Homes and their sales agent Porter Glenny were on hand during the launch event to tell visitors about all the exciting things still to come like the residents lounge and top notch security features, and well as answer any queries they might have had.

When complete, Highlands, will offer 23 one and two bedroom apartments designed exclusively for buyers of 60 years and over. Great Homes will be installing state-of-the-art safety and security features, such as a CCTV entryphone system that allows residents or a duty manager to observe visitors before allowing entry to the building, along with an integrated fire alarm system and alarms to the ground floor apartments.

In addition, Highlands will offer a 24-hour emergency support team that can be alerted at the press of a button and a day duty manager who will take care of day-to-day queries. There will be communal facilities such as a luxurious residents’ lounge and sun terrace, and a library where new friendships can be forged. A free internal telephone system will ensure residents can keep in touch with each other, and a guest suite will be provided for visiting family members.

Highlands will offer a specification that will impress. The sales suite and show apartment gives a hint at just how luxurious all the apartments will be. For example, in the kitchen of each will be a range of integrated Bosch appliances that include a washer/dryer, fridge and freezer, oven, hob and combination microwave. Atmospheric under pelmet and spot lighting, plus a stylish cushion flooring will complete the look.

Elsewhere, the bathrooms will be presented in white and include a vanity unit. All the apartments will afford a separate shower, and some will even have an additional ensuite shower room off a bedroom. The apartments throughout will be carpeted, and finishing touches will include coving to most rooms, oak internal doors and terrestrial and satellite television points – including Sky+.

Highlands, which has been designed using traditional materials so that it will blend with the immense Arts and Crafts character of the Gidea Park Conservation Area, is proving popular. Its need is without question. The population of the UK is ageing at such a rate that in the next decade it will increase by about a million, and many of these current 45-59 year olds live in the Romford area.

The new development in Gidea Park stands on land that was at one time owned by Major Sir Herbert Rapheal, MP, who was responsible for created the ‘Romford Garden Suburb’. The 1909 project was an exhibition of good town planning where homes designed by more than 100 architects were created in unison with open areas of gardens and green spaces. Part of the scheme included the creation of a good road and rail infrastructure, which remains to this day.

Highlands is convenient for shops such as a newsagent, mini-market and a pharmacy which are all within walking distance, and also lies just a few miles from Romford and Upminster where there is a much larger choice of amenities. Nearby are Lodge Farm Park and Raphael Park for Highlands’s residents to enjoy.

“Having done extensive research in the area and as experienced developers of retirement properties ourselves we were convinced that the need for such homes in the area was immense,” explains David Sparks. “We are now delighted that Highlands is well on the way to taking shape.”

The sales suite and show apartment is now open every weekend from 10am through to 5pm. For further information contact the selling agent Porter Glenny on 01708 725000 or visit the Great Homes Limited website: www.greathomes.co.uk.
