mcch, a non-profitable organization, and its subsidiary charity autism london that offer support to those with mental health, learning disabilities and autism, has chosen Ascension Business Park in Fleming Road, Chafford Hundred, Essex, as its new area office base.
“We are really happy with our move to the new offices at Ascension Business Park,” says Jacky Hammond, area director of mcch and autism london. “Following a restructure of our organisation last year we decided to open an area office which was local to our services, but because we needed offices that were central to our area, all on one level and had disabled facilities we were finding it difficult to locate appropriate offices. We were therefore very pleased to find Chafford Hundred and our new offices which are perfect.”
Jacky and her team took over the 905 sq ft (85 square metres) office suite, which Great Homes Limited designed and built on behalf of owner Streamadvice Limited to meet the demand for high specification, cost-effective office accommodation of this size in the area. It is in a convenient location with Chafford Hundred railway station, literally, in walking distance away for ease of travelling throughout Essex as well as into London’s Fenchurch Station for day-to-day business. The journey time is around 35 minutes.
“It is really convenient,” says Jacky. “Our team can travel almost anywhere in Essex and into East London, and people can easily travel to us for staff training, workshops and users’ forums. It is also easy accessible for our Head Office staff based just over the water in Maidstone, Kent.”
As well as rail links, Ascension Business Park is served by a good road infrastructure. The A1306 and B146, which both link to the A13 for easy routes into Rainham, Barking and central London are minutes away in one direction, and the M25 offers routes to Grays, Tilbury and Basildon in the other. It lies close to the Lakeside Regional Shopping Centre.
mcch, which operates to charity rules, and its subsidiary organisation autism london, a registered charity, provide support to those with autism, mental health and learning difficulties in terms of sourcing housing and employment opportunities, organising training workshops and courses, and offering help with social issues. Founded around 20 years ago, they have a turnover of over £30m per year.
Such has been their growth that the management team decided it was no longer viable to provide their specialised services to a large region from just one office in Maidstone, and so the decision was made to create a series of area offices in key locations. Chafford Hundred was deemed to be a perfect location for the Essex and East London area.
The unit mcch and autism london now occupy is the last of five that together form the business park. It is a detached single-storey building that affords an attractive external design with large windows to maximise on natural light. Internally, it has an open plan arrangement, with an office/meeting room for the area director and a training/meeting room for up to 30 people with a separate kitchenette and w/c facilities.
